Delivery and Trucking Considerations

As many of you know, electronic logs have been in place nationwide on all delivery trucks.  This Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration policy ensures that drivers are off the road for mandatory, tracked down-time.  Since going into effect, the strict budgeting of hours for “wheels rolling” have caused previous day-trips to become multi-day trips, which require drivers to be compensated for overnights.  Longer trips are also causing drivers hit the maximum hour-limit on the road faster.

Delivery costs have risen fast, and will continue to remain high.  In order to counter this, and pass on as little of the delivery cost as possible, we ask that you continue to work with us in scheduling deliveries and being prepared to receive deliveries in a timely fashion.  The more efficient we can be during deliveries and unloading, the less likely other deliveries will be delayed due to drivers hitting their maximum log hours.
