Type K, L and M Copper Tube

Type K has the thickest wall and is used for underground water service and higher-pressure lines. Type L is the most common choice for interior water distribution. Type M has the thinnest wall for lower-pressure residential and commercial lines. DWV is used for drain, waste and vent lines where pressure isn’t a factor.
