Schedule 40 vs. Schedule 80 PVC Pipe

Both are rigid, solvent weld schedule products made to ASTM D1785 with the same outside diameter, so they use the same size fittings. Schedule 80 has a thicker wall, making it the heavy duty choice for higher pressure, industrial and exposed applications. Schedule 40 is the everyday choice for pressure lines and drain, waste and vent work.

Large Diameter PVC Pipe
