Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Distribution Center Manager to lead our Houston, TX team. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities and Job Duties:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations within the distribution center, ensuring safety and operational standards compliance.
  • Oversee freight management, transportation planning and carrier coordination.
  • Enforce and execute safety policies, including daily safety meetings and inspections.
  • Route trucks daily with multiple stops and varying durations.
  • Ensure flatbed trailers are loaded safely and accurately.
  • Monitor driver routes and communicate deviations to sales.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to promote a high-performance culture.
  • Jump in on the warehouse floor when needed—be hands on and lead by example.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift and assist with loading or unloading trailers.
  • Maintain inventory integrity through physical counts and reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with HR department and assistant manager on personnel issues.
  • Prioritize safety and customer service above all else.
  • Oversee trafficking, customer callouts, and delivery logs.
  • Monitor the loading and unloading of all materials.
  • Scheduling and assigning daily loads.
  • Manage equipment and supply inventories.
  • Process RMA’s and adjust plans based on sales requests.

Required & Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong leader who can influence and drive cultural change.
  • A disciplined manager who can hold team members accountable while maintaining respect and fairness.
  • An adaptable professional with excellent administrative skills who is equally comfortable in the office and on the warehouse floor.
  • High ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • 7-10+ years managing a distribution center experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and inventory management.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations; A CDL A license and forklift certification are a bonus.
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical position, involving heavy lifting (~50 lbs.)
  • Comfortable climbing on and off flatbed trailers and assisting with strapping / tarping.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
